Dr. Lam graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1983.
She completed her training in internal medicine and attained the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 1988 and membership of the Royal College of Physicians in UK (MRCP) in 1989.
She did her advanced training in infectious diseases in Singapore as well as in the U.S. Dr. Lam spent 2 years as a clinical and research postdoctoral fellow in infectious diseases at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.
She is an infectious diseases specialist accredited by the Specialist Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health. She is on the Specialist Register, Singapore Medical Council and is a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
She was Head, Travellers’ Health & Vaccination Clinic at Tan Tock Seng Hospital before she left for private practice in 2000. She looks after inpatients at Mt Alvernia Hospital, Mt Elizabeth Orchard, Mt Elizabeth Novena Hospital and Farrer Park Hospital and sees outpatients at the group’s clinics, namely Infection & Vaccination Consultants at Mt Elizabeth Orchard, Infection & Vaccination Centre at Mt Elizabeth Novena Specialist Centre and Infectious Disease Clinic Pte Ltd at Farrer Park Medical Centre.
